Untitled 2017, by Portuguese artist João Gabriel (Leiria, 1992) is the exhibition that inaugurates the season at Vilaseco, being the first individual show of the artist in Spain. The exhibition will take place on Thursday 21st September at 20:30h in Vilaseco Gallery, A Coruña.
João Gabriel (24 years old) lives and works in Caldas de Rainha. He is one of the six finalists of the Prémio Novos Artistas Fundação EDP, which is why his work has been exhibit at the MAAT, Lisbon Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology. He also participates in the collective project Quatro Elementos, in the Municipal Gallery of Porto and in the Boavista Gallery in Lisbon.
João Gabriel’s painting, characterized by the influence of 1970s cinema, pays special attention to the male body, frequently depicting erotic scenes.
