12 Miradas

Cultural program

12 Miradas is a cultural action program curated by Carlos Quintáns and promoted by Laboratorio Creativo Vilaseco.

This socially engaged program, led by Laboratorio Vilaseco in collaboration with Corporación Hijos de Rivera, promotes creativity and the arts as a driving force for social development and welfare.

In the Galician countryside, a series of workshops and artist grants place the territory itself center stage. As part of 12 Miradas, different established artists mentor younger artists and researchers. The artists share their knowledge through grants funded by Corporación Hijos de Rivera.

Among the participants are Ignasi Aballí, Isaac Piñeiro, Irene Kopelman, Oliver Laxe, Fernanda Fragateiro, Javier Peña — Ibañez, Guillermo Santomá, Joan Fontcuberta, Cruz + Cruz, María Barros, Boa Mistura, Ellen Kooi…

The artists Andrea Dávila Rubio (Boiro, 1995), Carla Souto (A Coruña, 1994), Berio Molina (A Fonsagrada, 1979), and Marina González Guerreiro (A Guarda, 1992) were working, guided by Irene Kopelman, on the drawing as a way of getting to know and establishing contact with the Ribeira Sacra (Galician countryside area).
